Abbreviations (short)


Abbreviation Term Notes
#AT Number of attacks per round Attack type cited (e.g., 1 bite)
AC Armour Class Base is 11; the higher the better
DM Dungeon Master Creator, arbitor, and interpreter of campaign
Dmg Damage Cited as die roll (e.g., 1d6 or 2d4)
HD Hit Dice Each "*" indicates a special attack (RC/153-4)
hp hit point Higher is better
IR Initiative Rating Modifier to combat initiative roll
ML Morale Higher is better
NA Number Appearing Included in monster citations (see below)
NPC Non-Player Character Character controlled by DM
PC Player Character Character controlled by player
Save Save As Indicates Saving Throw matrix by class and level
THMod To Hit Modifier Modifier to combat "to-hit" roll
XP [n] Experience Points n is the monster's "level" for relative XP allotment
